EDUCATION
Michaela Rózsa Růžičková harbored a lifelong dream of becoming a singer, yet her voice matured belatedly. Unable to pursue classical singing at the Bratislava Conservatory, she initially immersed herself in piano and conducting. This shift transpired after sessions with Professor Vlasta Hudecová, a distinguished Slovak opera singer and teacher.
Her trajectory as a singer materialized during her tenure at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In the final year of her conducting studies, mandatory singing lessons unveiled her innate talent. Urged to take up singing seriously, she underwent six months of preparation and secured admission as a singer at her conducting alma mater. Professor Magdaléna Hajóssyová, a renowned opera soprano, guided her vocal journey.
In her inaugural year of singing studies, Michaela landed her first role at the Theater of František Šalda in Liberec, portraying Amor in Christoph Willibald Gluck's Orfeus, directed by Martin Otava. Specializing as a coloratura soprano, she graduated with the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute, and with Mozart's colloratura concert aria, Schon Lacht der Holde Frühling. Subsequently, she pursued a doctorate at the academy, exploring Gypsy music's application in the classical music repertoire.
